Responsibilities
The 2D Game Artist / Illustrator will:
- Help establish art styles and visual directions for digital products.
- Create characters, illustrations, environments, game elements, and asset packs.
- Develop reusable artwork for different products and experiences.
- Create visual guidelines for characters, objects, environments, colours, shapes, and illustration styles.
- Develop visual styles that reflect Nigerian culture and everyday experiences where appropriate.
- Work with designers and developers to prepare and export digital assets.
- Revise artwork based on product, design, development, and user testing feedback.
- Maintain consistent visual quality across products.
- Contribute to a reusable visual asset library.
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Early-career or mid-level experience in illustration, game art, character design, digital products, or a related area.
- A strong portfolio showing illustration, character design, visual storytelling, and creative problem-solving.
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate, Figma, Krita, or similar tools.
- Strong vector and raster illustration skills.
- Understanding of composition, colour, shape, proportion, and visual hierarchy.
