Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on industrial compressors, cooling towers, evaporators, and condensers.
- Monitor, test, and repair anhydrous ammonia refrigeration systems while following safety procedures.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults to reduce plant downtime.
- Repair or replace pumps, valves, motors, and other faulty components.
- Maintain daily records of system operations, refrigerant usage, safety checks, and compliance activities.
- Respond to urgent system failures and hazardous refrigeration leaks during on-call duties.
- Support the reliable operation of large-scale industrial cooling systems.
- Follow workplace safety requirements when working with high-hazard refrigeration equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum qualification of SSCE or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in industrial refrigeration or heavy commercial refrigeration systems.
- HVAC-R trade school training or a registered apprenticeship is an advantage.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, industrial piping diagrams, and mechanical blueprints.
- Strong refrigeration troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Ability to work safely around anhydrous ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights.
- Ability to work in extremely cold freezer areas and hot industrial environments.
