Responsibilities
- Clean the kitchen, preparation areas, work surfaces, utensils, and equipment before service.
- Check, arrange, organize, and restock kitchen ingredients and supplies.
- Wash, peel, cut, slice, and chop vegetables and other ingredients.
- Prepare garnishes and basic ingredients for daily service.
- Assist with general food preparation and mise en place.
- Store and organize ingredients and kitchen supplies properly.
- Follow food-handling, hygiene, and food-safety procedures.
- Minimize food wastage and handle ingredients carefully.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
- Maintain good personal hygiene, grooming, and kitchen cleanliness.
- Perform other kitchen-related duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum qualification of SSCE or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Assistant, Kitchen Porter, Prep Assistant, or in a similar hospitality role is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation.
- Ability to prepare simple garnishes and assist with kitchen preparation.
- Understanding of kitchen cleanliness and basic food hygiene.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under the supervision of chefs and kitchen supervisors.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Hardworking, organized, punctual, reliable, and disciplined.
- Physical ability to handle cleaning, preparation, stocking, and other kitchen duties.
- Willingness to work Tuesday to Sunday, with Monday as the regular day off.
- Flexibility to work assigned shifts and support the kitchen during busy periods.
